Job Summary

To work closely with the Head of Finance & Group Financial Controller to manage the Financial Reporting, Treasury, Tax, and Financial Operations (Insurance Accounts and Accounts Payable); ensuring efficient and effective day-to-day operational and financial management of specified group entities.

Financial Reporting

  • The production of the monthly management accounts and balance sheets.
  • Forecasting and budgeting profit & loss and balance sheets.
  • The financial year-end process including the preparation of financial statements.
  • Assist in running the annual external audit process and various internal health checks and help ensure that recommended improvements and actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of financial controls.
  • Ensure all relevant FCA requirements are met.
  • Review of CSA Sox controls monthly.

Tax

  • Help to execute tax planning opportunities to minimise tax payable by the Group.
  • Assist the Group VAT return and payment process.
  • Support the broader business in all tax related affairs.

Financial Operations

  • Key contact between the business units and the Finance team.
  • Attend Exec, Board, & ad hoc meetings with the business as required.
  • Ensures timely coding of all invoices, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Continuous improvement of all Financial Operations processes.
  • Continual reporting and escalation of process to the business in order to ensure compliance with finance policies.
  • Refer any matter beyond the level of an individual’s experience or authority to their line manager.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

  • Qualified Accountant with 5+ years PQE, trained within a large audit firm and possesses excellent technical skills, with a strong understanding of the insurance industry.
