Commercial Claims Handler
Location: Rawdon
Salary: £Negotiable + benefits
We’re looking to add a Commercial Claims Handler to the team at Marshall Wooldridge to ensure we provide the highest level of client care should they need to make a claim.
This role involves the day to day handling of a range of commercial claims, to include property, motor and liability, assisting and advising clients, liaising with insurers and proactively progressing the claim through to settlement.
This is a good long term opportunity that will suit a person with either existing claims handling knowledge or someone looking to progress into claims and take on wider responsibilities.
The day to day:
- Handle a range of claims allocated, liaising with clients, loss adjusters and insurers to ensure all relevant documentation/information is gathered at the earliest opportunity, advising clients on procedures, next steps and how best their policy can respond, where appropriate, advocating on the client\’s behalf and negotiating settlement with insurers.
- Building close and longstanding relationships with clients, attending client visits, claims reviews, and loss adjuster investigations etc.
- Produce statistics, reports and information as required by Directors/Account Executives/Handlers on claims for clients.
- Establish close links with Insurers, loss adjusters, engineers and other relevant parties.

Your Experience:
- You’ll have sound working knowledge of Commercial Insurance and Policy wordings gained within a claims environment.
- Your skill set should include strong Communication (Written, Verbal, Video), Negotiation, Stakeholder Management, Influencing and IT skills coupled with the ability to empathise with clients
- You\’ll have a sound working knowledge of general claims procedures and the likely procedures of various insurers to enable you to advise client\’s on likely next steps and how best to proactively manage their claim.
- Able to utilise Insurer portals and other relevant systems effectively for reporting and processing needs.
