Brown & Brown Insurance are eagerly looking to recruit a Claims Handler with experience of Household and/or Commercial claims to join our team. Brown & Brown claims are the in-house claims team who handle claims for the UK MGA underwriting division. The claims team handle a mixture of household, commercial and liability claims on behalf of Insurers, from first notification of loss through to settlement.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading insurance businesses, with offices throughout the US & Europe. For this role we are offering a competitive salary, an excellent chance of long-term progression and hybrid working if desired (WFH Monday & Friday).
Duties to be performed in the role will include:
- Answer inbound calls from policyholders and clients wishing to register a claim
- Accurately logging new claim details on the Pro-Claim system
- Review and assess each insurance claim in-line with client philosophies with a focus on more complex claims less experienced Claims Handlers would be confident in dealing with.
- Ensure claims are processed in a timely manner in accordance with KPI’s
- Provide comprehensive verbal and written advice on all aspects of Policy Wording in relation to cover and claims.
- Provide advice to policy holders on their claims and the best method of settlement where appropriate
- Obtain relevant documentation for the assessment of the claim including photographs, third party reports, receipts/proof of purchase etc.
- Ensure all recovery aspects of claims are monitored and amounts due are obtained where necessary
- Highlight potentially fraudulent claims to the Claims Supervisor and third parties as appropriate
- Liaise with policyholders, clients, insurers, loss adjusters and other relevant parties to ensure good relationships are maintained
- Settling claims and advising policyholders of the outcome
- Ensure company records are maintained (using Pro-Claim or other IT platform as provided) on all claims
- Ensure system Tasks are completed in a timely manner
Previous experience in either Household, Commercial or Liability claims is required to be considered for this vacancy.
