We’re looking for a proactive and hands‐on project manager to partner closely with our Senior Operations Manager. In this role, you’ll lead a variety of business‐critical transformation projects—primarily using waterfall methodology—while also overseeing key operational activities that keep our function running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, shaping change, and making a visible impact across the business.

The day to day:

  • Translate business strategy into clear and actionable project delivery plans.
  • Manage and align dependencies across multiple project workstreams to ensure cohesive delivery.
  • Identify and remove blockers that prevent teams from achieving their objectives.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high quality products that meet business expectations.
  • Implement and maintain metrics and reporting to track project progress and team performance.
  • Monitor project budgets and track realisation of expected benefits.
  • Proactively identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to manage project interfaces, dependencies and deliverables.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and support Governance Committees including preparation of packs and updates.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement across teams and processes.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operations run smoothly by maintaining service levels, productivity and quality targets.
  • Monitor workflow performance across teams, identifying and remediating any bottlenecks to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Act as primary contact for operational issues, resolving problems quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to group policies & standards and devise and embed compliant operational procedures.
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication across all teams and departments.
  • Support resource planning and capacity management to ensure teams are appropriately staffed and aligned to priorities.
  • Use operational and delivery data to provide managerial insights and recommendations.
  • Proactively support any strategic or operational initiatives as required to meet business needs.

About you:

  • Extensive experience as a Project or Operations Manager in London Market Insurance.
  • Relevant project management certification.
  • Strong leadership, communication and people skills.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience with senior stakeholders, project reporting and presentations.
  • Adaptable and exhibits a proactive, hands-on approach across diverse tasks and responsibilities.
