About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for a design-focused professional, ideally with an architectural background, to take on a key role as a Design Coordinator within a construction contractor.
Working within a friendly and supportive team, you will be responsible for coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring that designs are fully coordinated, buildable, compliant and aligned with the project programme and commercial requirements.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working between the design and construction teams and will have a good understanding of how architectural design translates into practical construction on site.
About you
You will ideally have
- A relevant architectural, architectural technology, construction or design qualification.
- Experience in a Design Coordinator, Architectural Technologist, Architectural Assistant or similar role.
- Experience working for a main contractor, specialist contractor, consultancy or architectural practice.
- A strong understanding of construction detailing and buildability.
- The ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and technical drawings.
- Experience coordinating information between multiple design disciplines.
- Experience with Auto CAD, Revit, BIM or other relevant design software would be advantageous.
