An interesting opportunity is available for a civil engineering design engineer to join a growing multi-disciplinary design and project coordination business who operate across the civil and structural design disciplines. The role will be based from their South Leeds offices where they service both a national and regional client base across a variety of project sectors (including rail, infrastructure, bridges, water and some general civils projects). Your primary responsibilities will be to take a lead on key aspects of design and manage principal projects, as well as having some input into the leadership of the design team.

To be considered for this role you should fit the following spec:

  • Have a proven track record of operating in a structural design engineer role, either from a consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Ability to carry drainage design and minor civils projects.
  • Ability to develop detailed design and calculations via a range of computer software.
  • Being able to think methodically and to manage projects.
  • Ability to liaise with professionals and supervise and lead drawing office staff.
  • Ability to work well within a team and within a highly pressurised environment.
  • Ability to interpret client requirements and communicate these requirements to others.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Familiarity within the rail sector advantageous.
