The Role
We are expanding our expert Clinical Negligence team.
We are seeking ambitious Solicitors from Newly Qualified (NQ) level right up to Senior Grade A practitioners.
We welcome applications from talented litigators with a strong background in either Claimant or Defendant clinical negligence work.
This role operates on a hybrid basis from our office in Annitsford.
The location offers superb accessibility, featuring excellent road links directly into Newcastle via the A19/A1 and down to Wearside, making for a straightforward, stress-free commute from across the region.
You will manage or assist with a diverse portfolio of challenging clinical negligence claims, including:
- Birth injury and cerebral palsy claims
- Misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis cases
- Surgical negligence and fatal accident claims
- High-value complex dependency claims
Key Responsibilities
- NQ to Grade C: Manage an appropriate caseload under supervision, conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and attend conferences with counsel and experts.
- Grade B to Grade A: Take lead conduct of high-value, complex clinical negligence litigation, provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and drive business development initiatives.
- Review medical records and collaborate with top-tier medical experts to build robust cases.
- Deliver empathetic, clear, and exceptional service to clients during sensitive times.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEX equivalent (NQ to 8+ years PQE / Grade A).
- Proven track record in clinical negligence litigation (Claimant or Defendant backgrounds are equally valued).
- Sharp analytical skills with excellent attention to medical and legal detail.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and drafting skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
