As our Hospitality Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all hospitality operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will provide leadership, guidance, and support to the hospitality team, ensuring that every event, retreat, and guest stay at Broughton Sanctuary is an exceptional experience. From overseeing day-to-day operations to working on strategic growth projects, you’ll be at the heart of our hospitality offering.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily hospitality operations, ensuring the smooth running of all areas, including guest services, housekeeping, food & beverage, and retreat experiences.
- Ensure that every event, retreat, and guest stay at Broughton exceeds expectations by maintaining the highest standards of service.
- Work closely with the heads of department to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain a keen understanding of guest satisfaction, addressing any concerns proactively and ensuring every guest has an extraordinary experience.
- Ensure all hospitality venues are always kept in an organised and operationally efficient state.
- Ensure all venues are guest-ready well in advance of events and retreats, providing final quality checks.
- Support external auditors and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Assist in sales show-round visits and work alongside the Business Development team to drive new bookings and commercial opportunities.
- Play a key role in the strategy for business growth and development, working on projects that enhance the guest experience and improve operational efficiency.
- Create and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and exceptional service across all hospitality areas.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for retreat enquiries and respond in a timely and professional manner.
- Guide potential clients through retreat design, advising on how they can make the most of all that Broughton Sanctuary has to offer.
- Provide briefings and updates to the Commercial Director on proposed retreat designs and ongoing client support.
- Monitor and manage budgets and expenses, ensuring financial targets are met and reporting on performance.
- Act as a key leader and support system for the hospitality team, providing clear guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Supervise and motivate staff to foster an empowered and engaged team, while also managing recruitment, performance evaluations, and staff retention.
- Organise inspiring and fun social events for staff, fostering a strong team culture aligned with Broughton’s ethos.
- Design and implement an engaging cultural onboarding process for new staff, ensuring they feel welcomed and aligned with the Broughton values.
- Conduct biannual appraisals with each team member, offering feedback and career development support.
