As Business Development Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth across Broughton Sanctuary's retreat and exclusive use markets. You will be responsible for managing the full sales process - from qualified lead through to closing. Working collaboratively with the marketing, operations, and hospitality teams to deliver exceptional client experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Development
- Take ownership of all qualified leads generated via marketing channels, direct enquiries, and recommendations.
- Manage enquiry handling, qualification process, proposal creation, site visits, negotiation, and closing.
- Upsell activities, extras and promote rebooking.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities in Pipedrive, ensuring all activity is accurately recorded and tracked.
- Work collaboratively with lead generators across Broughton Sanctuary to maximise opportunities and cross-sell experiences and packages.
- Deliver against monthly and quarterly sales targets and contribute to the wider revenue goals of the business.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Retreat Event Planner and Avalon Centre Manager to ensure seamless handover from sales to operations, ensuring all client requirements are fully communicated.
- Liaise with internal departments to coordinate proposals and deliver tailored experiences.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas to strengthen the overall commercial strategy.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with retreat leaders, corporate clients, and event organisers.
- Provide exceptional customer service and act as a trusted advisor for clients seeking bespoke retreat and exclusive-use experiences.
- Gather client feedback and insights to inform future business development strategies.
- Market & Product Knowledge
- Develop a deep understanding of the retreat, wellbeing, and niche events market to effectively position Broughton Sanctuary as a leading destination.
- Keep up to date with market trends, competitor offerings, and client needs to identify new opportunities for growth.
Requirements
- Essential:
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management—ideally within hospitality, events, or the wellbeing/retreat sector.
- Demonstrated success in managing the full sales cycle and closing business.
- Proficient in using Pipedrive or similar CRM systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Highly organised, target-driven, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Desirable:
- Knowledge or interest in the retreat and wellbeing industry.
- Experience working in a high-end hospitality, events, or destination environment.

Working Arrangements:
- 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
- Weekend work required as part of a rota system (day off in lieu).
- Office-based at Broughton Sanctuary. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed.
