We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Witham that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Leader to join their pastoral team. Job Overview
  • Support the welfare, wellbeing, and personal development of students within an assigned year group.
  • Promote positive behaviour, strong attendance, and high expectations across the school.
  • Work closely with the Head of Year, safeguarding team, and Senior Leadership Team to provide consistent pastoral support.
  • Support students with SEND, SEMH needs, EHCPs, or safeguarding concerns through targeted interventions.
  • Monitor behaviour, attendance, and pastoral trends using the school's MIS system.
  • Build strong relationships with parents/carers and external agencies to secure positive outcomes for students.
  • Support behaviour management strategies, suspension processes, and reintegration plans.
  • Act as a key point of contact for students requiring additional pastoral support.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture.

  • Experience using data to monitor student progress, attendance, or behaviour.
  • A proactive, resilient, and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and supporting young people to succeed.
