Are you an experienced Team Leader with a background in transport or dispatch, used to managing drivers in a fast‑paced environment? We're working with a growing manufacturing business looking for a Transport & Dispatch Team Leader to take ownership of the day‑to‑day dispatch operation. This role has direct responsibility for HGV and delivery drivers, with close coordination across warehouse and FLT teams to ensure everything runs smoothly. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll be visible on the floor, driving performance and ensuring deliveries leave on time and in full.

The Role

  • Lead and manage a team of HGV and delivery drivers
  • Coordinate closely with warehouse and FLT teams (dotted line) to ensure efficient loading and dispatch
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day dispatch operation, ensuring orders are shipped accurately and on time
  • Plan and prioritise workloads in line with delivery schedules
  • Monitor KPIs including on‑time delivery, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Work closely with production to ensure goods are ready for shipment
  • Drive continuous improvement across dispatch and transport processes
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and compliance
  • Support training, coaching, and development of drivers

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a transport, logistics, or dispatch environment
  • Proven experience managing or supervising drivers
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced setting
  • Good understanding of dispatch and transport processes
  • Confident using systems and handling documentation
  • FLT licence advantageous but not essential
