Your new company is a well-established and growing accountancy firm in South Manchester that is continuing to invest in its tax capability as part of its wider advisory offering. With a strong and loyal client base, the firm is now looking to appoint a Tax Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping and developing a broader tax service, working closely with the senior management team.
Your new role involves engaging with clients at an early stage, discussing initial scopes and identifying planning opportunities before supporting the wider management team in delivering solutions. This role has a strong advisory slant and offers the opportunity to lead and steer the development of a growing tax offering, bringing ideas and direction to how the service evolves. You will work closely with existing clients, responding to tax queries and supporting more complex discussions, while also mentoring and working alongside a developing team. The role offers genuine scope to make an impact, with autonomy to help shape the firm's tax proposition over time. Core areas of exposure will include corporate tax structuring, personal tax planning, trusts and FIC considerations, and IHT-related matters (full standalone advisory experience is not essential, but strong technical awareness is required).
What you will need to succeed: You will be CTA qualified (or newly qualified) with around five years' experience gained within practice. You will be confident holding initial client conversations, commercially aware, and motivated to take ownership of developing a tax service offering. Strong technical grounding across corporate and personal tax planning, with knowledge of trusts, FICs and IHT considerations, will be key, alongside a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and supporting junior team members.
What you'll get in return: The firm offers flexibility around salary, dependent on experience, and welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates. You will join a close-knit and progressive team, gaining exposure to interesting client work and hands-on mentoring from experienced professionals. Flexible and hybrid working is available, along with a range of attractive benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for a Tax Manager seeking a visible role with real influence and long-term progression.
