Our Public Local Government client, Taunton, Somerset, seeks a Case Manager, Supported Housing. To oversee the administration and management of social housing properties with an overall responsibility for approximately tenancies. Ensure housing landlord duties are discharged in accordance with policies and procedures, and ensure that housing regulations, policies and procedures are adhered to. To oversee the housing administration and management of social housing tenants and their homes across several sheltered housing schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pre-tenancy support to prospective tenants, including providing information and advice during property viewings, completing the sign-up process, and ensuring new tenants are fully introduced to their home and tenancy.
  • This includes supporting tenants through an initial six-week period and ensuring they are aware of all available services.

Qualifications Essential

  • A level standard of education or equivalent qualifications.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing or other relevant professional body.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media and CRM.

Criteria for Shortlisting

  • At least two years' experience in housing management, managing and providing support to tenants within a local authority or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of introductory and secure tenancies and the management of these tenancies.
  • Understand customer service values, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Wider knowledge of housing law.
  • Have experience in a role with a similar level of responsibilities.
  • Understand the principles of data protection.
  • Organised, conscientious, energetic, driven, confident and assertive.
  • Able to meet deadlines and deliver excellent frontline services in a pressurised environment.
  • Experience of working with a range of partners, including communities, to develop new and different ways of working.
  • Experience in managing conflict and dealing with disputes.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to show empathy, use persuasion, negotiation and tact in a wide range of circumstances.
  • Able to use own initiative and judgement in making decisions within a housing and support environment.
  • Ability to work on one's own or as part of a supportive team.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to analyse and make effective problem-solving decisions in relation to case management.
  • Facilitates meetings and groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
