We are urgently seeking an exceptional Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join a well‑established, flourishing, high‑quality private nursery in the heart of Stafford city centre. This role requires an individual who is committed to providing the best of care and education to each and every child within the nursery. You should be highly experienced working within a childcare environment, confident and ready to hit the ground running from day one. You will be stepping into a busy, supportive nursery environment where your expertise and knowledge will be valued immediately. The staff offer vast amounts of support and the nursery boasts a ‘family feel’ environment. This is a full‑time, temporary position working through a supply agency. You will be working Monday to Friday with typical hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm (flexibility may be considered for the right candidate).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding care and early years education in line with the EYFS framework and standards.
  • Confidently manage routines, activities and transitions throughout the day.
  • Build strong, supportive and professional relationships with children, staff and importantly parents too.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment at all times.
  • Demonstrate self‑initiative and leadership within the room when caring for pupils.

What we're looking for

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A strong level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).
  • Previous experience working with young children whether this is in a nursery or primary school setting. This experience will stand you in good stead to jump straight into a busy nursery environment.
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Paediatric First Aid (or be willing to work towards).

Pay £14.24 – £15 an hour, holiday pay is included in the day rate. The hourly rate may be negotiated dependent on the right candidate and their level of experience.
