Independent Forgings and Alloys, one of Europe's leading precision forging companies, is expanding and now looking to recruit Production Operatives to join its Closed Die Forge operations in Sheffield. The position operates on a rotating Monday to Friday shift pattern covering mornings and afternoons, with overtime opportunities available in line with requirements. As the Production Operative, you will work within the Closed Die Forge operation across Lasco, Stamps, or Blades Forge departments. You will support the safe and efficient production of aerospace forgings while working closely with Team Leaders, Forge Operatives, and wider production teams to achieve operational and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities- Operate within company Health & Safety procedures and maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Support forging operations across Lasco, Stamps, or Blades Forge production areas.
- Assist with the preparation, loading, and movement of materials and tooling.
- Operate production and forging equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow documented production processes and quality procedures.
- Ensure full material traceability throughout all production stages.
- Support tooling changes and production set‑ups.
- Work closely with forge teams to achieve daily production targets and output requirements.
- Monitor production operations and report any process, quality, or equipment concerns.
- Complete production records and documentation accurately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the forge operation.
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate operational updates effectively.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures within production environments.
