This position will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operational reliability across a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring plant equipment, systems, and machinery are maintained to a high operational and compliance standard. Key Responsibilities
- The successful M+E Maintenance engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned preventive maintenance as well as responding to reactive breakdowns across the facility.
- The role will involve diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults safely and efficiently, minimising downtime and supporting production continuity.
- Assist with installation works and modifications to plant equipment, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with site safety procedures and compliance standards.
- Work with site electrical and control systems, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining accurate maintenance records using internal systems and software.
- Regularly liaise with production teams, supervisors, and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure work is completed effectively and safely.
Requirements
- Hold a recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical maintenance engineering, with previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy engineering environment.
- Strong fault‑finding abilities across mechanical and electrical systems, with exposure to PLCs, plant controls, and automated systems considered highly advantageous.
- Self‑motivated, safety conscious, able to work independently or as part of a wider engineering team.
- Strong communication skills and basic computer literacy.
