M+E Maintenance Engineer

Permanent - Shift Pattern

Hours: 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 12 Midnight currently - This will be changing in near future to the following: 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm, 10pm to 6am

The M+E Maintenance Engineer Opportunity

This position will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operational reliability across a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring plant equipment, systems, and machinery are maintained to a high operational and compliance standard. Key Responsibilities

  • The successful M+E Maintenance engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned preventive maintenance as well as responding to reactive breakdowns across the facility.
  • The role will involve diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults safely and efficiently, minimising downtime and supporting production continuity.
  • Assist with installation works and modifications to plant equipment, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with site safety procedures and compliance standards.
  • Work with site electrical and control systems, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining accurate maintenance records using internal systems and software.
  • Regularly liaise with production teams, supervisors, and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure work is completed effectively and safely.

Requirements

  • Hold a recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical maintenance engineering, with previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy engineering environment.
  • Strong fault‑finding abilities across mechanical and electrical systems, with exposure to PLCs, plant controls, and automated systems considered highly advantageous.
  • Self‑motivated, safety conscious, able to work independently or as part of a wider engineering team.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer literacy.
