What the Accounts Senior job involves:
- Working as part of an experienced accounts team, you will be responsible for preparing accounts and supporting the wider practice with a range of duties, including:
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Producing and reviewing management accounts (where required)
- Preparing basic corporation tax computations and supporting information (depending on experience)
- Completing VAT returns and liaising with clients to resolve queries
- Assisting with bookkeeping and ensuring records are accurate and up to date
- Communicating with clients via phone/email to gather information and provide updates
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members (Accounts Senior level)
- Working to deadlines and maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism
Skills required:
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice at a Senior or Semi Senior level
- A solid understanding of preparing accounts for a range of business types
- Confident using accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Strong communication skills and a client-service mindset
- Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively during busy periods
