Holt Engineering is representing a leading provider of secure communications, systems integration and engineering solutions, supporting defence, government and critical infrastructure customers across the UK and internationally. This opportunity is suited to an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in ICT, networking and communications systems, ideally within highly regulated or security-sensitive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure systems for MoD and government-related projects
- Liaise closely with the Project Office to ensure successful delivery of assigned work packages
- Test, evaluate and verify new hardware and software solutions
- Deliver projects in line with technical specifications and programme requirements
- Produce technical documentation, drawings and supporting engineering information
- Define IP structures and provide guidance on equipment specifications and project configurations
- Support customer meetings, trials and future system enhancements
- Provide technical training and support for new systems where required
- Participate in the MoD/Government engineering support rota
- Visit customer sites in support of installation, testing and project delivery activities
- Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders during trials and deployment phases

- Ability to take ownership of technical issues through to completion
- Strong understanding of networks, system design and infrastructure
- Experience interpreting project requirements and translating them into deliverable solutions
- Proactive and independent decision-making capability
- Strong communication, organisational and time management skills

- Experience supporting projects within secure or mission-critical sectors
Technical Requirements
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, DV Security Clearance
- Degree qualified in Engineering, ICT or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Broad ICT and satellite communications experience highly desirable
- Knowledge of Cisco CCNA-level networking or equivalent
- Experience with Juniper and Fortinet technologies
- Professional registration beneficial
