Our client is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing infrastructure team, supporting a major power and energy programme for one of their key clients. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile projects within the power and utilities sector, supporting delivery on significant infrastructure works.
The Role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management and delivery of complex power and energy infrastructure projects. Working closely with senior members of the commercial team, project teams, and supply chain partners, you will gain hands‑on experience across all stages of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting commercial activities across major power and energy projects
- Assisting with the administration of NEC contracts
- Supporting cost forecasting, reporting, and change management processes
- Assisting with procurement and subcontract management
- Helping to identify and monitor commercial risks
- Building effective working relationships with project teams and stakeholders
- Supporting the delivery of projects in line with commercial objectives
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the power, utilities, or energy sector (or similar infrastructure environment)
- Exposure to NEC contracts is highly desirable
- Experience on projects for clients or similar major infrastructure programmes is an advantage
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamworking abilities
- Degree qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying
Location
Hybrid working 2‑3 days per week on site in Tilbury
