Procurement Assistant/Officer Newport - Hybrid £34,691 plus strong benefits package. Reed Procurement are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a valued client for a Procurement Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a busy, well-organised procurement function, supporting the delivery of a robust procurement strategy and a broad range of sourcing activities.

As a Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in supporting category teams with sourcing events, supplier vetting, contract management administration, and ongoing supplier performance activities. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, acting as a subject matter expert for procurement processes and helping to ensure policy compliance across the business. This is a varied and fast-paced position where you'll be involved in everything from online tender creation to data analysis, supplier audits, and maintenance of procurement catalogues and vendor lists.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support supplier vetting, audits, and maintenance of supplier records
  • Maintain and update the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and procurement catalogues
  • Assist with sourcing activities, including spend analysis and setting up e-sourcing events
  • Contribute to contract management tasks such as extensions, price reviews, and documentation maintenance
  • Act as a first point of contact for supplier and stakeholder queries, ensuring compliance with procurement policy
  • Provide administrative and cross-category support to the wider procurement team
