A special educational needs school in Mansfield is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils on a full-time basis (term time only). The school caters for pupils aged 3-18 years with ASC, SCLN, and other complex needs.

Responsibilities

  • Have experience in an education or health care setting and liaise with a large, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Have excellent communication skills and provide feedback to pupils and their parents/carers on a regular basis.
  • Be comfortable with personal care and feeding due to the complexity of pupil needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop a happy, safe, and stimulating learning environment meeting pupils’ physical, academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Support young people to develop confidence, resilience, and independence for life beyond school.
  • Support teachers in the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum that meets individual needs and prepares pupils for employment and success after their school journey.
  • Liaise with parents/carers and a multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic support for pupils and provide a wide range of experience.

Qualifications

  • Team Teach qualification required (training can be provided).
  • Previous experience working with young people with additional needs preferred.
  • Experience in an education or healthcare setting.
