We are currently looking for a Rail Electrification & Plant (E&P) Engineer to join a growing Rail engineering team delivering a wide range of UK infrastructure and Rail projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced E&P Engineer to secure a long-term contract role working on high-profile Rail schemes across the North West and wider UK network. The role offers flexible hybrid working alongside a strong pipeline of Rail enhancement, upgrade, and infrastructure projects.
You will be joining an established multidisciplinary design team delivering Electrical and Power solutions across Rail environments. Projects include:
- Rail Electrification & Plant (E&P) systems
- Railway lineside power infrastructure
- Points Heating systems
- Signalling Power supplies
- Level Crossings
- LV Distribution systems
- Depot and Station Electrical Infrastructure
- Lighting, Small Power & Earthing Systems
- Rail upgrade and refurbishment projects
Responsibilities:
- Producing E&P and Electrical design deliverables for Rail projects
- Supporting multidisciplinary Rail design teams
- Delivering designs in line with Network Rail and industry standards
- Preparing calculations, technical reports, and design documentation
- Coordinating with CREs, Project Engineers, and wider design teams
- Attending technical and project meetings where required
- Supporting project delivery across multiple Rail infrastructure schemes
Requirements:
- Previous experience within Rail Electrification & Plant (E&P) projects
- Strong understanding of Rail Electrical systems and infrastructure
- Experience with Rail lineside systems, LV distribution, signalling power, or points heating
- Knowledge of Network Rail standards and Rail design processes
- Experience using design software such as Trimble ProDesign, Electrical OM, Dialux, Relux, or Microstation beneficial
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary Rail project teams
This role is suited to contractors with experience in Rail Electrical Design, E&P Engineering, Building Services within Rail, or wider Rail Infrastructure projects.
