Our client is a freight forwarding specialist who offers freight solutions by road, rail, sea and air through their many offices worldwide as well as through their solid network of agents and partners. We are now looking for a Freight Customs Coordinator to join the team based at their Manchester office in Trafford Park.
Main responsibilities:
- Providing an outstanding level of customer service to both internal & external clients
- Completing both import and export declarations and other customs documentation using Descartes software
- Handling multi modal freight
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of import and export customs declarations
- Ensure correct payment of duty & VAT
- Manage post clearance action
Experience:
- Ideally my client would like applying candidates to have 1-2 years experience in customs who they could further train
- Experience from working for a freight forwarder in a customs freight role
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional IT skills
- Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual
- Strong organisational & time management skills
Package and Benefits:
- Salary: £27,000 to £32,000
- Hours: Mainly office based, although limited opportunity for occasional WFH
