Our client, an established software group working across energy, AI, and technology-led industries, is looking for a strong C# Software Developer who can demonstrate a consistent track record of delivering complex, long-term projects aligned to the kind of work their teams undertake. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative engineering environment where you will help design, build, and enhance scalable cloud-based applications used by both growing startups and established global organisations. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience working on ongoing energy industry projects and be able to demonstrate delivery across enterprise-scale or business-critical platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using ASP.NET MVC and C#
  • Deliver scalable, secure, cloud-based solutions within energy-focused environments
  • Work with Postgres and Azure SQL to optimise database performance and structure
  • Build and maintain serverless applications using Azure Functions
  • Support and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Collaborate closely with senior developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and stakeholders
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making
  • Work across long-term, continuous delivery projects with evolving client requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in ASP.NET MVC and C#
  • Proven experience delivering projects within the energy sector
  • Evidence of working on ongoing, business-critical software projects similar to enterprise delivery environments
  • Strong experience with Postgres and/or Azure SQL
  • Experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Functions
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD processes, ideally using Azure DevOps
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work effectively within Agile development teams

Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Azure App Services and Azure Service Bus
  • Experience working within Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience working on data-heavy or operational systems within utilities or infrastructure sectors
