We are currently recruiting a 7.5 tonne driver (Class 2) to work in our Logistics Distribution and supply chain team for our client based in Leigh. Newly passed drivers are welcome to apply, so even if you have limited experience, this could be a great opportunity for you.
The Role
As a 7.5 tonne driver you'll be reporting to the Team Leader, you will work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, adapting to new situations on a daily basis. This is a physically and mentally demanding role that requires reliability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
Pay Rate: 14.67 per hour Plus 1.77 holiday pay per hour Total: 16.44 per hour
Shifts: 5 nights out of 6 (Saturdays off) or 4 nights a week Start time: 02:00 AM 8‑hour shifts Temp to perm position
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and legal operation of a 7.5 tonne vehicle
- Conducting pre‑trip vehicle checks
- Ensuring loads are secure
- Planning efficient delivery routes
- Adhering to drivers' hours and road regulations
- Delivering goods to specified locations on time
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with Category C (Class 2)
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Strong work ethic with a positive, can‑do attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Right to work in the UK
- Minimum 1 year experience desirable, but not essential
