The Company
Our client is a specialist in the design, manufacture, and installation of steel structures, supporting large-scale warehouse and logistics environments across the UK. Their work includes mezzanine flooring, structural steelwork, and integrated warehouse solutions, supplying major end users such as large distribution centres and retail operations. The business operates from a single UK site in Lutterworth, supported by an in-house design team overseas.
The Role
They now seek a Project Manager to oversee projects from initial order through to final installation, ensuring delivery is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This is a key role within the business, working closely alongside the Managing Director and coordinating across design, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish. Projects typically range from £100,000 to £2 million in value, covering a wide range of steel and warehouse infrastructure solutions across the UK. You will act as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle, managing timelines, coordinating resources, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage projects from handover through to completion
- Coordinate internal departments including design, fabrication, and installation
- Liaise directly with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and progress reporting
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification
- Attend project and site meetings where required
- Identify and resolve any project risks or delivery challenges
- Support continuous improvement of project management systems and processes
- Ensure strong communication between all stakeholders throughout delivery
What we are looking for in a Project Manager:
- Previous experience managing projects within steel fabrication, construction, warehouse fit-outs, or a similar industry
- Strong understanding of structural steelwork and installation processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering or design drawings
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and experience managing client relationships
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proactive, confident, and capable of making decisions independently
- Full UK driving licence and ability to commute to Lutterworth
