Roles & Responsibilities
- Resource and allocate loads daily, achieving best possible margins
- Schedule deliveries in line with customer expectations
- Proactively source additional work via transport trading platforms
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
- Maintain regular communication with subcontract hauliers
- Monitor delivery performance and manage any delays
- Work to operational KPIs and business targets
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Transport Broker / Transport Trader
- Strong background negotiating transport rates with subcontractors
- Good knowledge of UK transport legislation (drivers' hours, WTD, vehicles)
- Detailed understanding of the UK general haulage market
- Strong UK geographical knowledge
