Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting! Are you an ambitious teaching assistant looking for a rewarding role in a primary school? We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school that requires a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 2 pupils with Special Education Needs.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with specific learning needs in EYFS and KS2.
  • Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting activities to suit the pupil's needs.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Support the social, emotional, and educational development of the pupils.
  • Liaise with teachers, SENCo, and parents to ensure consistent progress.
  • Assist with classroom activities, maintaining a calm and inclusive atmosphere.

About You

  • Has experience working with children, ideally within EYFS or KS2.
  • Has a good understanding of SEN and strategies to support learning.
  • Is patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about helping children reach their potential.
  • Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Catholic ethos of our school (you do not need to be Catholic but should be supportive of our values).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.

  • An enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
