We are working with a market‑leading engineering and fluid power solutions business experiencing strong growth, with ambitious plans to exceed £125m turnover. Due to continued expansion and investment in engineering capability, we are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to drive new business and develop key customer relationships across the North of England. This is a highly autonomous, field‑based role offering the chance to sell bespoke hydraulic systems and components into a wide range of industrial sectors.

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of customers, selling both engineered solutions and specialist components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Driving new business development across targeted industries
  • Managing and growing existing accounts, increasing customer spend
  • Selling bespoke hydraulic systems and components (cylinders, valves, pumps, power packs)
  • Generating and managing RFQs, working closely with in‑house design engineers
  • Meeting clients face‑to‑face
  • Building relationships across multiple stakeholders including engineering, procurement, and senior leadership teams
Products & Solutions

You will be selling a mix of:

  • Hydraulic systems (e.g. conveyor control systems, power packs)
  • Fluid power components (valves, pumps, cylinders)
  • Custom‑engineered solutions
Customer Base

Manufacturing (SMEs & large organisations), Automotive & vehicle manufacturers, MRO providers, Industrial sectors including marine, quarrying, forestry, FMCG, and automation.

About You

We are looking for a driven and commercially minded individual with a strong technical grounding. You will have:

  • Proven experience in technical sales within hydraulics, pneumatics, or fluid power (Not essential)
  • Strong business development and relationship building skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage your own territory
  • Confidence engaging with both technical and commercial stakeholders
  • A proactive, self‑starting attitude with a passion for growth
