We are looking for a skilled, motivated and experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to join a busy and well‑established service centre team specialising in the repair and overhaul of industrial gearboxes and pumps. This is a hands‑on, technically varied role where you will be at the heart of diagnosing, dismantling, repairing, and reassembling critical rotating equipment. You will play a key part in ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and reliability while working on a wide range of equipment every day. Job responsibilities:
- Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble a range of rotating equipment including gearboxes and pumps
- Produce clear and accurate inspection reports, identifying faults and recommending solutions
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Use measuring and testing equipment to ensure components meet required tolerances and quality standards
- Take ownership of your work, ensuring accuracy and high‑quality output with minimal supervision
- Support day‑to‑day workshop activities, maintaining strong standards across quality, health & safety, and environmental practices
- Identify faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective repair solutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting ways to improve processes and efficiency
- Respond to urgent repair requirements when needed
Qualifications:
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment, particularly gearboxes and/or pumps
