A specialist domestic abuse service in Merseyside is seeking an experienced Independent Domestic & Sexual Violence Advocate (IDSVA) to support high-risk survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed advocacy and support to survivors
- Complete risk assessments and safety plans using MeRIT
- Support clients through criminal and civil court processes
- Represent clients at MARAC meetings
- Work closely with Police, Housing, Social Care, Health, and other partner agencies
- Maintain accurate case records and safeguarding standards
Essential Requirements
- Domestic and Sexual Abuse Training
- Minimum 2 years experience in a domestic/sexual abuse support role
- Experience in advocacy, risk assessment, and safety planning
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication and case management skills
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS required dated within the last 12 months or on the Update Service
- Needs to be available immediately
