Overview
Shillito Group are excited to be exclusively partnering with a growing SME manufacturing business based in Sheffield in their search for a driven and detail‑orientated HR Administrator or HR & People Coordinator to join their team. As the business continues to evolve, we are looking for a proactive and organised HR Administrator to support the development and implementation of modern HR policies, processes, and people practices across the company. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical HR administration and wants to play a key role in helping a business prepare for upcoming UK employment law and employee relations changes over the next few years.
The Role
Working closely with senior leadership, operational managers and possibly third party support, the HR Administrator will support day-to-day HR administration while helping to review, update, and roll out company‑wide policies and procedures. The role can be structured as either full-time or part-time depending on experience and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Support the review, creation, and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Assist with ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and upcoming employment law changes
- Coordinate onboarding, inductions, and employee paperwork
- Support absence, holiday, and general HR administration processes
- Assist managers with HR documentation and employee communications
- Help develop consistent people processes across the business
- Support employee relations administration where required
- Coordinate training records and compliance documentation
- Assist with HR reporting and data management
- Support wider people and culture initiatives as the company grows
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, practical, and confident managing a wide range of HR administrative responsibilities within a fast‑paced operational environment.
Essential
- Previous HR administration or HR coordination experience
- Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with the ability to work with managers and employees at all levels
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Desirable
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments
- CIPD Level 3 or working towards CIPD qualification
- Experience supporting policy implementation or HR projects
- Experience with HR systems
