We are seeking an Occupational Health Technician to join our clients' expanding peripatetic team. This role is suitable for experienced OHTs or those with a Sport Science degree, or a background as an Emergency Medical Technician, in a transferable health-related field, Combat Medical or Ambulance Assistant.
The successful applicant will be required to travel throughout the UK in a mobile screening van to client sites in order to deliver health surveillance services. This is a full-time role where the successful applicant will work 37.5 hours per week, usually between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. You must be happy to frequently stay away from home during the week (Monday‑Thursday).
Key Responsibilities:- Health surveillance screening
- Audiometry
- Lung function testing
- Drug and alcohol testing
- General baseline measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, urinalysis
- Undertake and support additional tasks such as health promotion activities
- Provide support to the whole occupational health team in helping the department run smoothly and effectively
- Sport Science graduate or background as an Emergency Medical Technician, transferable health related field, Combat Medical or Ambulance Assistant (starting salary £25,000 for applicants without OHT experience)
- Ability to complete overnight stays and extensive travel throughout the UK; diary planned 6 weeks in advance
- Hold a full manual UK driving licence (minimum 12 months experience) and be able to provide proof
- Experience and/or willingness to drive a van up to 3.5 tonnes
- Competent IT user (MS Office suite and/or electronic medical records systems)
- Ability to work autonomously
- Great communication skills
