The Role
As a PE Teacher, you will play a key role in promoting physical activity, teamwork, and personal development, delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable). You will contribute to both curriculum PE and extracurricular sport, helping to build a strong sporting culture within the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across a range of sports and activities
- Inspire pupils to participate actively and develop their physical skills and confidence
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support development
- Support pupils of all abilities, including those with additional needs
- Contribute to extracurricular clubs, fixtures, and school sporting events
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment in line with health and safety standards
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the PE department and wider school
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting (or strong placement experience)
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of sports
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Passionate, energetic, and engaging teaching style
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work full-time in the Great Missenden area from September
Desirable
- Experience teaching GCSE PE
- Ability to contribute to a range of extracurricular sports
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN
- Knowledge of assessment frameworks within PE
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
