Driver 8-9 hrs per night Sunday to Thursday/Monday to Friday £15.81/hour. Clarkson Evans is the largest electrical and solar installer working in the new build housing sector, wiring over 20,000 homes a year. The Role

We're looking for a professional and reliable overnight driver to deliver all required materials and internal post to our regional branches in the Southwest. The usual working hours are 10pm‑6am based at our Exeter branch, the routes will take around 8‑9 hours each night. The successful candidate can choose to work Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday to ensure all equipment is at the relevant branch by Monday morning. You will assist with loading the delivery vans before leaving with other drivers. You will also be responsible for the collection of faulty and excess materials, rubbish and the internal post. We are looking for someone with a flexible approach who is also willing to provide holiday cover for our warehouse staff. This involves opening up the warehouse in the mornings and preparing the materials required by our electricians for the day.

Responsibilities

  • To load vans in a safe manner, ensuring the materials are secure for transporting
  • To deliver all materials (scanning items to correct cages) and the internal post bag to our branches as required
  • To collect the returns, post and rubbish from the relevant branches
  • To drive in a safe and professional manner
  • To ensure the regional branches are secure before departing
  • To inform the Logistics Supervisor of any potential van or unit issues
  • Providing occasional holiday cover for regional warehouse operatives
  • To carry out additional tasks to support the business as required

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent driving skills
  • Good accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a flexible approach to working
  • Willingness to travel to other branches as required
  • Knowledge of road laws
  • Forklift licence would be advantageous
