Supply Desk is working with a friendly and supportive primary school in the Stoke Poges area to recruit a passionate Early Career Teacher (ECT) for a KS1 Class Teacher role. This is an ideal opportunity for an ECT to begin their teaching career in a nurturing environment, with strong mentoring and a structured induction programme.
The Role
- As a KS1 Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping pupils' early learning experiences, building strong foundations in phonics, literacy, numeracy, and social development.
- You will be supported throughout your ECT journey by experienced colleagues and senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum.
- Support early development in phonics, reading, writing, and maths.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEN.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and staff.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team.
Requirements
- ECT (QTS achieved or pending).
- KS1 teaching experience from placements.
- Good understanding of phonics and early learning.
- Enthusiastic, positive, and reflective teaching approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Full-time availability in Uxbridge from September.
Desirable
- Familiarity with phonics schemes (e.g. Read Write Inc, Little Wandle).
- Experience supporting SEN pupils.
- Understanding of early assessment frameworks.
