The Data and Business Information Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing Broughton’s reporting, business intelligence and data automation capabilities.
The role will transform data from multiple business systems into accurate, actionable insights, automate reporting processes, delivering a ‘single source of truth’ approach to reporting and decision‑making.
Working closely with stakeholders across all functions, the Data and Business Information Analyst will design and maintain reporting frameworks, automate manual processes, improve data quality, and develop dashboards that provide meaningful business intelligence.
The role will act as a subject matter expert for data management, reporting systems and analytics, supporting Broughton’s continued growth through reliable, accessible and well‑governed data.
Responsibilities / Objectives

- Reporting and Business Intelligence
- Develop, maintain and improve business reports, dashboards and visualisations using Power BI and other reporting tools.
- Build reporting frameworks that provide consistent and accurate business metrics.
- Develop automated reporting solutions to reduce or eliminate manual data processing.
- Data Management and Governance
- Develop and manage datasets that provide a centralised and trusted source of business information.
- Integrate and consolidate data from multiple systems and databases.
- Monitor data quality, accuracy and integrity across reporting platforms.
- Establish data standards, validation rules and governance processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Automation
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting and administrative processes
- Design and implement automated workflows to improve efficiency, reduce errors and save time.
- Continuously review and optimise existing reporting solutions and data processes.
- Database and Systems Development
- Develop, maintain and optimise SQL queries, scripts and databases.
- Integrate data from multiple sources to create meaningful business insights.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement of data systems and reporting platforms
- Work with internal teams and external providers to resolve data and reporting issues.
- Continuous Improvement
- Promote data‑driven culture by helping colleagues understand and utilise business information effectively.
- Recommend improvements to systems, reporting and analytical methods.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies and best practices in analytics, reporting and business intelligence.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Proven experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst or similar analytical role.
Advanced SQL skills with experience querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Strong experience with Power BI to build dashboards, reports and data visualisation
- Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, Pivot Tables and complex formulas
- Experience in data modelling, data transformation and reporting automation
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Ability to interpret complex information and communicate findings effectively to a non technical audience.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Experience working with CRM, ERP or Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS).
Knowledge of Power Automate or other workflow automation tools.
Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks.
Experience within a regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare or laboratory services.
