The Role

  • Produce precision-engineered components from technical drawings using Puma CNC turning machines
  • Program, set, and operate CNC lathes (Fanuc controls) to achieve accurate and consistent results
  • Work to tight tolerances (up to 0.02mm) while maintaining high quality standards
  • Deliver components within agreed production deadlines
  • Ensure all machining activities comply with company procedures and British Standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Support wider teams in fault finding and resolving production or engineering issues
  • Work collaboratively within a small, skilled machine shop handling a varied workload

The Person

  • Time-served CNC machinist with strong turning experience
  • Proven experience with Fanuc programming (essential)
  • Experience operating Puma CNC machines is advantageous
  • Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
  • Confident working in both metric and imperial measurements
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible in approach to work
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and strong work ethic
