We are working in partnership with a highly respected civil engineering contractor with an established presence across the South West. Financially strong and long-standing in the market, the company continues to expand through repeat business and secured framework agreements, providing a steady stream of highways and infrastructure projects. Their core expertise is in highways structures and reinforced concrete works, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, parapets, and associated highway infrastructure. Projects are generally small to medium in value and delivered throughout the region south of Bristol. Known for their technical capability, reliable delivery, and collaborative approach, they have built an excellent reputation for delivering safe, high-quality infrastructure schemes for valued clients.
Due to continued growth and a healthy secured workload, they are now seeking an experienced Site Agent to join their Bristol-based team.
The Role
As Site Agent, you will take ownership of several highways structures and reinforced concrete projects, ensuring successful delivery from mobilisation through to completion. You will manage day-to-day site operations, maintaining high standards across safety, quality, and programme, while acting as the key link between clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Chairing client meetings and site progress reviews
- Coordinating subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting site-based teams
- Producing short-term programmes and look-ahead plans
- Preparing and reviewing RAMS documentation
- Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and technical information
- Managing quality assurance processes and H&S compliance
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with framework and company procedures
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Site Agent with a strong civil engineering background, ideally within highways structures environments. You will have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related qualification
- Previous experience working for a civil engineering main contractor
- Proven delivery experience on highways structures and RC projects
- Understanding of framework contract environments
- Strong commercial awareness and practical problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership and communication ability
- A thorough approach to safety, quality, and project delivery
