Group-level accounting leader for a multi-region, multi-entity international consultancy based in Bristol. This role involves headline financial control of the UK function and full group consolidation, reporting, and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a finance team of six, providing clear direction and accountability for UK financial control and group accounting activities.
  • Manage the full group consolidation process, ensuring accurate, timely reporting and collaboration with FP&A and Treasury to strengthen insight and cash-flow visibility.
  • Oversee statutory compliance and external audits, acting as the main auditor contact and implementing group accounting policies.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, guaranteeing a disciplined month-end process, accurate balance sheets and high-quality reconciliations.
  • Lead equity partner accounting, covering partner financials, distributions, bonuses, HMRC submissions and external advisor liaison, while supporting subsidiary dividend processes.
  • Deliver strategic finance projects that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen governance and support business growth.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a global, multi-entity, multi-currency environment with proven group consolidation capability (ideally using Hyperion or NetSuite).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and business-partnering skills, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams, with strong attention to detail, sound judgement and clear communication.
  • Strong IT capability, particularly advanced Excel.
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred), ideally Big 4 trained, with 7 years’ post-qualification experience and a relevant undergraduate degree.
