Thrive Personnel Ltd are recruiting a Sewing Machinist on behalf of a leading furniture manufacturer dedicated to crafting high-quality, stylish furniture.
Hours of work: 7.30am - 4pm Monday to Thursday, 3pm finish Friday.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sewing Machinist to operate and maintain industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality furniture upholstery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sewing techniques, fabrics, and patterns, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing excellent work.
Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial sewing machines to sew upholstery for furniture products.
- Read and interpret patterns and instructions to accurately cut and sew fabric.
- Select appropriate threads, needles, and machine settings for different fabrics and sewing operations.
- Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and production deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sewing Machinist, preferably in a furniture manufacturing environment.
