Our food manufacturing client based in Bolton is looking for an experienced Production Team Leader to join them on a permanent 2pm-10pm shift Monday - Friday.
Production Team Leader job purpose: To lead, manage and develop a team within either the bakery or packaging department, ensuring that the team runs safely, efficiently and effectively, driving a continuous improvement environment to maximise productivity and quality.
- Health, Safety and Environment: Ensure that the plant and people conform to HSE legislation, policies and standards. Take a proactive approach to the reduction of accidents, risks and hazards at site.
- FSQ: Ensure all products released for processing/sale meet food safety and quality standards, and the team remains compliant at all times through effective traceability and document completion/control.
- Cost: Effectively manage all controllable costs, from raw materials, packaging and waste, and accurate completion of databases to support improvement plans.
- People: Lead, motivate, train and develop the team, inclusive of agency, to best deliver results across the business pillars.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively look for CI opportunities, engaging the team to help positively impact the business pillars.
- Standards: Set and maintain company food hygiene standards through adherence to personal hygiene within the team, through to constant application of good GMP standards.
- Performance: Consistently drive plant performance across the line, from efficiency to waste management.
Additional knowledge/skills of the Production Team Leader:
- Ability to coach and lead, as well as manage.
- Ability to engage direct reports, as well as train and develop.
- Open, honest and respectful relationships with all colleagues, including BFAWU.
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
- PC literate (MS Office, SAP).
- Ability to work as part of a wider manufacturing team, including raw materials.
- Excellent planning and organising skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the job.
