Pertemps are working with our public sector client to recruit an Administrative Support Officer on a temporary basis.

Location: Edinburgh Bankhead

Hours: 36 hours per week

Alternate weekly shifts:

  • Early Shift - 6am to 3pm Monday to Thursday, 6am to 12:30pm Friday
  • Late Shift - 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 10:30am to 5pm Friday

Pay Rate: £14.51 per hour

Duration: Temporary ongoing

Start Date: Immediate

We're looking for an organised and proactive individual to support frontline waste and cleansing operations within the Neighbourhood Environment Services team. This varied role involves managing operational systems, monitoring routes and service performance, producing reports, handling enquiries, and supporting supervisors and managers with day-to-day operational tasks. You'll work closely with depot teams and managers to help ensure services run efficiently and operational data is accurate.

Key skills and experience:

  • Strong IT skills and confidence using multiple systems
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
  • Experience in administration, operational support, or systems support
  • HNC in Business, Waste Management, Environmental Management, or similar experience desirable
