Brothers of Charity are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Property & Assets to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic management, development and performance of the organisation’s property and asset portfolio. Ensuring our properties and operational assets are well maintained, compliant and effectively managed across all sites in Lancashire, Liverpool, and Greater Manchester. Utilised to support high-quality service delivery and long-term financial sustainability.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director will oversee the Head of Assets and maintenance teams, ensuring repairs, maintenance and estate management are delivered efficiently while maintaining strong compliance across the estate. The role will also play a vital part in supporting organisational growth, identifying opportunities to expand the asset base, improve property utilisation and maximise financial and operational value from our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Asset Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Asset Management Strategy aligned with organisational goals.
- Conduct regular strategic reviews of the organisation’s property portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to improve asset performance through redevelopment, acquisition, leasing or disposal.
- Develop long-term capital investment and asset development plans.
- Provide leadership to the Head of Assets and maintenance teams.
- Ensure repairs, maintenance and estate services are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Oversee maintenance management systems to ensure work is logged, prioritised and monitored effectively.
- Work closely with the Operations Director to ensure property capacity supports service delivery and expansion.
- Identify opportunities for property acquisition, development or repurposing.
- Lead feasibility assessments including financial modelling and risk analysis.
- Maximise the financial performance of the organisation’s property portfolio.
- Work with the Finance team to monitor income, costs and asset performance.
- Develop business cases for property investments and redevelopment opportunities.

Essential Skills, Experience & Knowledge:- Strong understanding of property asset management and estate strategy.
- Knowledge of housing, building and property legislation.
- Excellent financial and analytical skills.
- Ability to develop business cases and financial modelling for asset investment.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Significant experience managing property portfolios or estates functions.
- Experience leading maintenance or estates team.
- Experience developing asset strategies and managing asset performance.
- Ability to work flexibly across the organisation.
- Full driving licence and ability to travel between various regional sites.
