We are seeking a Digital Web Product Owner to lead the development, optimisation, and continuous improvement of our web platforms. Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and digital functions, you will ensure our websites and digital products deliver measurable business value, exceptional user experiences, and support strategic commercial objectives.
This role requires a strong understanding of web technologies, content management systems (CMS), product delivery practices, and stakeholder management, combined with a data-driven approach to performance and continuous improvement.
Role Responsibilities- Product Ownership & Strategy
- Define and maintain the web product roadmap, aligning priorities with business objectives and customer needs.
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritised backlogs.
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving customer experience, engagement, and conversion.
- Balance business, technical, and user requirements when making product decisions.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact between business teams, development teams, and external partners.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and product reviews.
- Communicate product progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.
- Build strong relationships across Commercial, Marketing, Customer Service, IT, and Digital teams.
- Web Platform Management
- Own the performance, functionality, and continuous improvement of web platforms and associated technologies.
- Manage and optimise CMS platforms, ensuring content governance, usability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with developers, UX designers, analysts, and third-party suppliers to deliver enhancements and new capabilities.
- Ensure web solutions follow best practices for accessibility, security, SEO, performance, and user experience.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Define, monitor, and report on key product KPIs and success metrics.
- Use analytics and user insights to drive product decisions and prioritisation.
- Establish clear measures of success for initiatives and track benefits realisation.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer journeys, conversion rates, engagement, and operational efficiency.
- Essentials
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Digital Product Owner, or Web Product Owner.
- Strong stakeholder management and business-facing communication skills.
- Knowledge of web development practices, software delivery lifecycles, and Agile methodologies.
- Proven experience implementing and working with one or more Content Management Systems (CMS), such as WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, Umbraco, or similar platforms.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
- Experience defining and managing KPIs, product objectives, and success metrics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Desirables
- Knowledge of digital marketing disciplines, including SEO, PPC, content marketing, customer acquisition, and web analytics.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and customer-facing digital journeys.
- Understanding of UX/UI principles and customer experience optimisation.
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Hotjar, Power BI, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Experience managing external agencies and third-party suppliers.
