Senior Production Accountant in Sheffield

An award-winning television production company is seeking a Senior Production Accountant to play a key role in its production finance team. This position works closely with Production Executives, Production Managers and the wider finance function to deliver clear, accurate financial reporting across a busy slate.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management for a varied slate of unscripted content, ensuring strong cost control from early development through to final delivery.
• Apply relevant production tax incentives and ensure accurate compliance across eligible projects.
• Develop solid working knowledge of internal finance and cost-tracking tools, and support production teams in using them effectively.
• Partner with senior production and finance staff to deliver clear, reliable cost reporting and maintain strong communication channels across departments.
• Lead month-end processes for assigned projects, completing reconciliations and explaining variances across income, margins and balance-sheet items.
• Prepare periodic financial reports for internal reviews and external stakeholders as required.
• Manage billing and credit control for allocated productions to support healthy cashflow.
• Contribute to annual planning cycles, including budgeting and forecasting for production activity.
• Build and manage project cashflows, including multi-currency when needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and organisational policies, including VAT, payroll, reporting and contractor legislation.

Skills & Experience

• Significant experience as a Production Accountant across multiple genres.
• Confident managing multi-currency productions.
• Knowledge of tax credit schemes.
• Able to juggle multiple productions and work independently or collaboratively.
• Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience.
