We have a requirement at one of our main customers for a Solutions Architect to work on some projects with an OT infrastructure bias.
Brief Summary
- Duration of 9 months, ideally with a start late Jan/Feb 2026.
- Architect role, designing solutions for infrastructure bias projects in the operational technology space.
- Projects will include Anomaly Detection solutions, Ignition stability and IIoT/Data Platform architecture.
The main purpose of the assignment is to provide solution architecture capability as part of the OT portfolio, with an infrastructure bias. Working as part of a project team to ensure design deliverables are completed within the agreed timeframes and to the required standard, adhering to the company's governance for technical architecture and project delivery.
OT Portfolio Capabilities
- Ensure business requirements are understood, documented, and agreed.
- Review existing information and where required undertake discovery of the OT environment to create a comprehensive AS-IS view of the current Architecture.
- Produce architectural artefacts in alignment with the agreed governance framework, completing the HLD and LLD documents as required.
- Work with the project manager to define and plan project activities, create work packages/runbooks etc., and track progress.
- Work with 3rd parties to evaluate new solutions, define requirements, and define/review SOWs.
- Implement a governance framework for ongoing control of the OT architecture and agree roles and responsibilities within the business.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure their needs are met.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Project Focus
The assignment will be allocated to work on the OT Portfolio in the Solution Architect role, with focus on infrastructure. Projects are architecting the secure OT environment and monitoring, then adding additional capability through specific solutions.
Accountabilities
- Ensuring solutions are technically viable, consistent with wider technology strategy and standards, and meet the business requirements.
- Ensuring awareness and alignment to company's architecture governance for all assigned projects.
- Support a formal transition process of new governance and architectural principles into operation.
- Strategic Alignment: Ensure that the infrastructure design aligns with the organisation's and programme's strategic goals and objectives.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to implementation.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure that the infrastructure meets all regulatory and security requirements.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors to procure necessary components and services, ensuring they meet the specified requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including high and low-level design and provide regular reports on project progress and performance. Present to internal governance boards to gain approval at various stage gates.
