Business Travel Consultant (Junior / Intermediate)

Office Based | Full Time | Permanent

Salary: £28,000-£35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Travel Consultant to join a growing business travel team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in corporate travel who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment.

As a Business Travel Consultant, you will manage end-to-end travel arrangements for a portfolio of corporate clients, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring all bookings align with client travel policies and budgets. You'll work daily with Amadeus GDS to book flights, hotels, rail, and car hire, delivering efficient and accurate travel solutions.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing travel requests from corporate clients via phone, email, and online booking tools.
  • Using Amadeus GDS to search, price, book and issue flights, including complex international itineraries, as well as hotels, rail and car hire.
  • Ensuring all bookings comply with client travel policies and approval processes.
  • Identifying cost-effective travel solutions while maintaining traveller comfort and duty of care.
  • Preparing accurate quotations and itineraries, and managing amendments and cancellations efficiently.
  • Keeping up to date with airline fare rules, ticketing procedures, visa and passport requirements, and destination information.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted travel advisor.
  • Processing travel invoices and supplier payments accurately.
  • Liaising with airlines, hotels and travel suppliers to resolve booking issues and secure competitive rates.
  • Supporting team performance by delivering excellent service and meeting agreed response times.

About YouEssential

  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience within a business or corporate travel environment.
  • Experience using Amadeus GDS (or a similar Global Distribution System).
  • Strong knowledge of airline ticketing, fare rules and booking procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple bookings in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport.
  • Experience using online booking tools such as Cytric, Concur or similar.
  • Knowledge of hotel and car hire programmes.
  • IATA or Travel & Tourism qualification.
  • Experience with rail booking platforms such as Evolvi.
  • Previous experience working within a Travel Management Company (TMC).
