In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting the Finance Controller with month-end activities, management accounts, financial reconciliations, and compliance submissions. You will provide insightful analysis to key stakeholders, support revenue projects, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes. You will have the ability to analyse variances, manage reporting errors, and challenge spending decisions will be essential in driving financial efficiency in fast past environment.
Role Details
In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting the Finance Controller with month-end activities, management accounts, financial reconciliations, and compliance submissions. You will provide insightful analysis to key stakeholders, support revenue projects, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes. You will have the ability to analyse variances, manage reporting errors, and challenge spending decisions will be essential in driving financial efficiency in fast past environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and produce monthly sales and margin flash reports.
- Lead the monthly management accounts process, providing variance analysis and commentary for stakeholders.
- Complete cost reports, identifying and addressing reporting discrepancies.
- Support the Commercial Team by conducting margin analysis for revenue projects.
- Assist with employee benefit reporting (P11D & PSA forms).
- Help prepare statutory accounts and support external auditors during year-end closing.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting.
- Oversee fixed asset approvals and maintain an accurate Fixed Asset Register.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- ACCA or ACA finalist, with an aim to qualify within the next 12 months.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102).
- Experience working with Sage Line 50 and SAP.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic business environment.
