This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a commercially-minded Finance Director to join a disruptor in the FMCG space. We are a fast-growing, Private Equityâbacked brand seeking a strategic partner for our Founders and the Board.
As we scale our footprint across new channels and territories, you will be the architect of our financial infrastructure. You will move beyond the "numbers" to influence our commercial strategy, optimise our supply chain economics, and ensure we have the capital and insights necessary to sustain tripleâdigit growth.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Act as a close advisor to the Founders, translating ambitious brand visions into robust, funded financial plans.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to analyse ROI on trade spend, promotions, and new product launches (NPD).
- Support future funding rounds or exit preparation, acting as the primary point of contact for PE investors and external stakeholders.
- Financial Operations & Compliance
- Lead and professionalise the finance function, implementing scalable processes and robust internal controls.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, and audit standards.
- Select and optimise financial systems/ERP to support realâtime data visibility.
- Reporting, Forecasting & Performance Tracking
- Own the integrated P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow forecasting models.
- Develop highâquality Board packs that provide the "story behind the numbers," highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Implement rigorous KPI tracking (e.g., Gross Margin, Customer Acquisition Cost, LTV, and Inventory Turns).
- Cash Flow & Risk Management
- Maintain a "handsâon" grip on cash flow, managing working capital cycles and inventory financing to support rapid scaling.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks, from supply chain volatility to currency exposure.
- Proven Finance Leadership: Senior finance role (FD or Head of Finance) within a highâgrowth environment, ideally within a PEâbacked framework.
- FMCG/Retail DNA: Understanding of the "bricks and clicks" worldâfrom manufacturing lead times and logistics costs to retailer margins and D2C metrics.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity and able to switch between "handsâon" and boardâlevel strategy.
- Communication Excellence: Ability to simplify complex financial data for nonâfinance stakeholders and perform confidently in highâpressure Board meetings.
- Qualified Professional: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification is required.
- Influence: A seat at the top table during a critical phase of the company's lifecycle.
